Looking for images of short women's haircuts will really have you questioning the general cultural concept of 'short' when it comes to women's hair.
#no I said 'short'#shorter than that#SHORTER#OK what if I add 'masc' to my search#Winona Ryder are you fucking kidding me#oh how could I have forgotten beloved masc icon Winona Ryder jfc#'masc' is another severely broken term I should have known better#'butch' is only marginally better in the results it produces#although you do at least get to look at a lot of very appealing images in that case#I just think of my normal hair as 'short'#but it seems that it is super ultra maxi mega short#if we can trust the search terms required to bring up images of what I'm looking for#out here exploring the oxygenless frontier of short hair apparently

https://olderthannetfic.tumblr.com/post/735066906548191232/calling-mf-relationships-straight-anon-i-would#notes
You know it would have been 100% more helpful if you'd just added the link, because like this I had to use tumblrs dreadful search function to figure out which parts you were specifically refering/answering to. /post/734652801973616640/what-word-should-i-use-biphobic-heteronormative#notes Now I'm gonna write unreasonably long response, so skip if you don't wanna read, bc I'm currently running on energy drinks and bad decisions.
1 It might surprise you but I can and do both. I in fact tell a lot of people not to assume a couple is heterosexual or homosexual just because of how they "appear." I can do both lol.
2 If they can get married or not has absolutely nothing to do with my issue as such. I'm really confused why you even bring this up since my focus was on how M/F relationships are treated in queer spaces, and how people always default to straight or gay, instead of just not doing that since queer is more than just "straight" or "gay". Maybe it was because I mentioned not liking the way straight passing/straight passing privilege is used? But that still is a different layer of the issue I have with the term itself and how it's applied in queer spaces to treat non-homo queer identities. I do think the term has its valid uses, but there's a difference between "you can't be queer if you're in a M/F relationship, because even though you're queer that privilege means you shouldn't enter queer (safe) spaces" and "SPP is when you don't need to fear from the Government or bigots for being out with your opposite gender partner." Though that doesn't take into consideration what happens if a M/F couple might not fit the typical cis normative and heteronormative gender roles. A feminine man, and/or a masc woman in a relationship can still experience open queerphobia. A lot of people do not acknowledge that even straight passing privilege isn't as cut and dry and "M/F", but comes also with the need to uphold a certain type of gender conforming role in society. Anyway, I'm objecting to the use specifically of "straight" as a way to other bisexual, and other non-straight relationships and how it's actively used to push M/F couples or M/F presenting relationships out of queer spaces, even when one or both people are queer. This includes relationships with trans, enbies, and other queer identities. Because it happens and it's not rare that even the queer community has tried to erase or push out bisexuals, and other non-monosexual queer identities. 3 My question more along the lines: Why the need to "gender" a relationship to begin with? As in why do you need to label a relationship as straight or gay just by looking at someone? Especially by queer people. Why is it ok to use that "binary" in queer spaces to exclude queer people because they're on the "wrong" side of the binary? A binary, hetero or homo, they don't even belong to? How often do you actually need to label someone else's relationship? We know the gender binary is bullshit, but people in queer spaces still decide to uphold certain binaries in so many aspects, and then judge you based on the binary they uphold, instead of you actual identity. It always seems to be much more acceptable to other and mess around with the identities of bisexuals and pansexuals, or other identities that fall outside the monosexual binary of homo and hetero, or the even the gender binary of male and female presenting.
Add-on: I also see bisexual relationships be labelled gay and it becoming a big thing in queer fandoms to erase their bisexuality, or of course pansexual character, even when one or both characters are bi, and then they get claimed under just the homosexual label, aka "Lesbians" or "Gay." This happened with Korrasami, Bubbline, and recently Lumity, even though each of these relationships has at least 1 bisexual character. I still see fandom wank about these relationships and how people are "erasing" lesbians when they state that the bisexual character is in fact bisexual, or how people label them under the lesbian identity for both. This happens with males as well, but it's more visible with female presenting relationships and characters. And obviously on the other end, when queer characters get labelled as straight, and then suddenly their actual queer sexuality doesn't count and they get treated as bad rep, or as not-valid because they aren't performing queerness on the right side of the monosexual binary. An example from recent times was Owl Houses HunterxWillow, where even though Hunter is bi and Willow is said to be pan, people disregarded their queerness because it was an implied M/F relationship sp people started wank about it being a "straight relationship" and doesn't count. Obviously there are more instances, but Owl house is more recent in my memory and this is long enough.
Ps: I don't care what you label your own relationship. I'm speaking in general terms, and I do not decide or speak for each individual bisexual, or pansexual or w/e. I'm speaking on my observations on how the label "straight" has been used to treat bisexuals and pansexuals as less valid or even completely erase their identity the moment they enter a M/F presenting relationship.
Pps: The first post was just a tired vent, and more of a throwaway thing. Not sure what this is, but I'll try avoid the energy drinks for now.

FAQ
Writing up a little FAQ, cuz, i see a lot of OP directed questions in the notes so figured I'd put this here.
First things first, almost all my art is original character art unless stated otherwise!
That being said, I'm actually fine with people projecting and tagging blorbos and ships on them, especially the 'Detention' piece.
Yes you may use my art as phone or pc bg, or icons and avatars (it would be cool if you credit me tho, either SeeminglyDark here on tumblr or Raptorjules on any other platform)
You can read about my characters if you want too, I have two comics, Seemingly Dark and Mil-Liminal, both can be found on Webtoon and Tapas!
I do have an INPRNT shop and a ko-fi shop, just search raptorjules, feel free to let me know if theres a print you'd like me to add.
Yes, the detention piece is Queer, you are welcome to decide in what way works best for you! canonically it is (left) he/him ace gnc character and (right) they/them closeted trans masc/enby character (and for those of you who went to look, you are right, it IS John and Caro's high school days)
i LOVE asks, please come say hi and tell me you read my comic or whatever you want. interaction is the best
tag me if you make something inspired by my art!! fan art, cosplay, fanfic based around my stuff (even if its just that my art inspired your fic of your otp from another fandom) i just think its neat, show me. i AM ok with you making ocs for my worlds, and sonas like caro and johns soul-sonas. i'm not ok with copying my ocs or concepts without my consent, tracing my work or outright stealing my work. credit to the original creator goes a long way when youre inspired by something.
You can find me on other platforms too, twitter, bluesky, and Instagram under Raptorjules 💞
Coming back around since it's been a while. I wanna add just for the record, I'm 100 percent not ok with having my work altered, recolored, or redrawn without permission. I don't really mind folks who are learning to draw trying to draw something I made as long as credit is given, but I have seen tags on my art before about altering/redrawing/or adding color to it to better fit some other fandom. My art isn't fan work, its original characters, and while I don't mind people saying 'it reminds me of this other thing,' it would really suck if someone actually altered my work to fit a different narrative. Thanks for respecting that! -RJ

fellow label anarchist! i have been reading into the history of stud and i really identify with it. I like how powerful and wanted it makes me feel. People have been saying i can’t ID as stud because I’m not a lesbian and i don’t match the definition of it fully (i’m pretty pale). But labels are just words and to me it means something different. I guess i’m taking a leaf out of your book and saying fuck them and identify however you want!
Ok, I don't want to yuck your yum or cause offense in any way, but you do seem to have run into one specific situation in which I might draw a line. I'm also having trouble articulating the issue fully here because I am white as well (assuming that's what you meant by pale), so if any poc can add on in the comments and speak to this, I would be so grateful for that.
I keep saying I'm a label anarchist because most of the time with queer labels, using one that doesn't necessarily "fit" you is not harming others in any way. I've only done a cursory search on Google about the stud label, since I'm not super well-versed with that one, but it does seem to be a label coined by black mascs to differentiate from their white counterparts.
I guess the best way I can think to explain why this is different than identifying as, say, a lesbian when bisexual is probably a better descriptor is by comparing it to the conservative argument against transgenderism where they claim that it would be the same thing as claiming to be "trans-race." It's difficult to fully articulate WHY these are different things, but we all know that they very obviously are.
It just seems, to me, like it might be appropriation to use that term when butch (and other masc labels like stone or just masc) exists.
I may be way off here. I'm not super knowledgeable about the various lesbian labels beyond a surface level understanding, and I'm also not involved in conversations about them. I really want to invite anyone who knows more than me to share their opinions/ understanding in the comments or reblogs, because I do feel out of my depth here a bit.
Ultimately, the first part, not being lesbian and using the label, I totally agree with—there are so many queer identities and to restrict expression descriptors like "butch" and "femme" to just lesbians doesn't make much sense, especially since there's so much overlap in the queer community. I would just be really careful with anything involving race, because it just seems like it might be infringing upon a safe space they've created for themselves, and that kind of thing actually IS harmful to those communities.
#anon im so sorry you came into my asks all excited about my label anarchy#you truly just stumbled onto one of the few lines i have concerning label usage#black queers and lesbians who know about the labels more than i do: PLEASE INTERACT!!#please i feel so nervous posting this one#i hate speaking like an authority on subjects that i dont think i actually know enough about#lesbian#stud#butch#femme#labels#ask#cloudy rambles

🌟 Picrew Neka Time 🌟
Ok so, a couple years back, I started an archive to hold onto character creators for me and my friends. But after a certain point I just kinda forgot about it, until now! I wanna dip back into updating it (when I can) and help others find weirdly specific picrews/nekas.
My list is sorted into 5 sections (technically 6 if you count the banned section):
Feminine/Fem-focused - They can be categorized as picrews or nekas that are mainly for making girls or otherwise feminine characters. Though there are some "exceptions" to the rule, such as ladies with muscles.
Non-specific gender/NB - They have options available that wouldn't be targeted to a specific gender. Having things like unisex clothes, flat chests, and/or no muscle definition.
Masculine/Dudes - Basically the reverse of FFF, muscle/masc dudes (even to the point of bara) but you can make a twink in some.
Ones with two or more characters - I think this is self-explanatory. This section and the ones above aren't restricted by apparent age or the likes.
Fandom-based - Basically picrews for a specific piece of media, such as games or shows. As of now I only really have Lobotomy Corp creators and one for Genshin Impact. Under no circumstances will I accept Harry Potter ones or any with elements of that.
Well Bee, how the fuck am I suppose to know which picrew/neka is which? I'm not gonna just go off of a description, what if I do that and don't like the art style? WELL I THOUGHT THE SAME THING, CAUSE BAM, LOOK AT THE GIF!!
Because I add an example image for all of them!
Hopefully I can keep up with it, especially if people are interested in using it and helping out. As I will be accepting submissions too. You can either link it in the replies or my asks. If you wanna go above and beyond, you can link it AND give an example image like the ones in the doc. Please make sure you Ctrl + F and search for the link just in case it's already there.
Here's a link to the doc!

Exploring a name: Reno
I decided to poke my nose down a rabbit hole this morning. This post is long. TLDR, i search out the word history and origins of the meanings behind Reno’s name!!
Let’s start with google. The obvious place to begin for curious minds! My first thought was that perhaps Reno was derived from maybe Italian, French, or Latin. I actually got multiple answers!
Born again!
My friends and I squealed in delight at this given how well it fits with the origin story I’ve written out for him overcoming the drugs and abuse both before and during Academy days!
Spanish! I should have guessed!! I tried my other guesses anyway for the sake of curiosity because it’s always possible that the name can have multiple sources!
OOO I was partially correct! There is a French origin as well! I'll come back to this. Let’s explore the Spanish and Latin roots first! I checked the Latin on wroldofdictionary.com
This makes sense given that Spanish was one of the languages born from Latin. Thus Latin ‘Reno’ meaning a short fur cloak and ‘Renonis/Reno’ meaning reindeer skin, deerksin garment, and fur cloak came to simply mean ‘Reindeer’ in Spanish. While The Latin word isn’t what I would call a first name it’s still worth knowing that It’s a carry over word! I never knew this! This is so cool! NOW back to the French!! Now lets look at the alternates of Renaud, Renault and Renouf :D Let’s start with Renaud!
Germanic! Not what I expected! He’s an extension of Rufus and ShinRa Senior and their Rule over Midgar when he carries out orders. yeah. this adds up pretty good. There’s some contention over whether this was derived from the French word for fox. ‘renard/renarde’ masc/femme respectively. The internet can’t seem to make up it’s mind. fox is also oddly fitting for Reno, he’s clever and wily. Ok...Lets check Renault!
About the same. Counsel and rule. He’s definitely someone Rufus depends on to a certain extent as well as ShinRa Senior.
Mk, now Renouf!!
Yeah. Wolf sounds about right. The ‘ShinRa Dog’ trope. They Send Reno to do ‘cleanup’. It’s implied he’s the killer out of the active field agents. IT’S REALLY STRANGE HOW ALL OF THESE LINE UP IN SOME WAY WITH RENO AS A CHARACTER DESPITE NOT BEING THE NAME THEY SETTLED ON.
Now, because in Japanese, The characters that correlate with english’s L and R are interchangeable (you use context clues in the sentence to decide which is used) I decided to poke my nose into the name Leno as well. The name Leno used to be heavily argued about whether or not it was canon simply because of that interchangeability. This wasn’t a sentence like “The bowl of RICE is delicious.” And you could look at it and go, yeah, that’s probably the word rice, not lice. It was a NAME. TO GOOGLE!! ...
- ... intensifies-
REALLY!? XD -WHEEZES-
Hold up hold up yo, -cracking up- is it really?! ARE THEY CALLING RENO A SLEAZE?!
checked on worldofdictionary.com again and...the Latin iiiiiiiis...
Daaamn. It might have been that The developers were trying to play up the playboy/badboy image. Maybe he was the money collector when the johns came in to meet the prostitutes and then took everything to the pimp. I would not dismiss the possibility of sex trade slavery in the slums. Not in the slightest. Or Reno getting stuck in it in some way or enabling it. I’m loosing myself in conjecture here (conjecture is the birthplace of headcanon, lets be real) He could have been a pimp He could have been a whore He could have been a go between what’s that word ‘bawd’ mean....
Wow they really went the whole nine yards to play this sexuality up. Maybe I'm not shipping ENOUGH. ROFL. I wonder why it was changed to Reno..... I guess he’s a playboy, but that wasn’t exactly hidden. This was fun!! <333

ok i actually unfurled my “receipt” talons but this person is an incest apologist and you should fucking block them. shit under the cut
ok i went to check them bc i basically go to check *everyone* now (regaurdless of if their points are good or bad. like having a shit awful opinion is inherently suspicious -duh- but i’ve been around the rodeo enough to know that holding people i agree with to high standards is actually fucking reasonable bc without it you get the fucking ocean of incest wierdos who giggle and traipse through the transgender aisle at the supermarket) and like. one of the first things i *see* (without having to like. search.) is:
and like. this sets off alarms immediately bc this person is reacting this dramatically to a claim that like. not all, not most, but *some* kinks are “disgusting”. i’m pretty sure even legends of the “kink” world would still agree that, yes, *some* kinks are disgusting. its not that hot a take. And while i *get* that they’re trying to say that whatever kinks this person is alluding to in particular aren’t disgusting, WELL, UM, LETS JUST actually i took a look further down the blog at this point in the “””””investigation”””””” and like
i already left commentary in the thing itself. like i do *get* it, the fact that stardew valley is trying to be inclusive by having all the romance options be available to everyone, or fucking fallout 4 is trying to be woke pogchamp by letting you “romance” as many people as you want, while simultaneously never fucking once giving lip service to the *existence* of us homos, is in fact actually fairly dehumanizing (though my reaction to such is based almost entirely in how much goodwill i have towards the developers, stardew valley dev yer ok and its not that big a deal, monster prom i hate your explanation that you used in marketing years ago when you just could’ve said that you won’t have any gender specific romance options and left it at that but yer Alright, fallout 4 die in a hole for literally giving the protagonist a requited happy suburban straight marriage and yet having tons of journos at the time praising you for being progressive and queer-friendly die die die die in a hole), but good fucking god OP of this not all stories centering solely around bi/pan/mspec women are doing that *for male gaze* and phrasing it like THAT is effectively repeating the “available to men” rhetoric that treats bi women like god damn grocery store zucchini FUCKING *ANYWAYS* BACK TO THE INCEST SHIT
ok so at this point i just search incest on the blog. its super easy as a way to vet people since theres a lot more people around in the same spaces i wind up in who are willing to offhandedly support *that* than some of the other pervert shit (probably because defending the fetishization of children or dogs is a angrier bees nest than even the bigger wierdos are willing to swing at lmao).
i don’t have much to say about this one i just think the way the person frames their laughing about all this is fucking weird. the screenshots kinda confusing (also terrible quality sorry) but everything about “tumblr is the funniest etc etc” is screenshots, and unless i’m *completely* misunderstanding the order of operations here Beaky is the transmasc exclusionist (??? exclusionist against what. excluding transmascs???? are they a trans masc who excludes???? what) and the pink anime girl bitch is the “trans lesbian (why are you bringing up the persons orientation unless yer taking this as some sorta attack on trans women thinkingemoji) who did incest roleplay with her partner” . its framed fucking weird and also yeah sure “calling for the death of a trans lesbian” is when someone says that a proudly, shamelessly incest glorifier should be put on a “block/kill list” (noteworthy thing that totally isn’t a turn of phrase born out of frustration with this shit- ALSO I SHOULD ADD THAT I HAVE NO CLUE WHO ANY OF THE INVOLVED ARE SO WHILE I OBVIOUSLY CONDEMN THE BROTHERFUCKER I DO *NOT* NECESSARILY ENDORSE THE OTHER PERSON LMAO)
ok now these are actually just acting like being against the fetishization of incest is puritanical
AND LIKE WHAT IN THE GOD DAMN IS THIS, THE OP GOES AT LENGTH TO SAY THAT THE CALLED OUT PERSON *APPROVES OF “ADULT, CONSENTING” INCEST* AND THE REPLY CGFORESKIN IS AGREEING WITH IS TALKING ABOUT THIS BEING MORE ‘FRAMING ALL TRANS WOMEN AS PEDOPHILES’ SLANDER. i don’t even know if the OP of that is operating in good faith or not but the fact that they’re all perfectly fine with completely skipping over incest is cartoonish. and given the rest of this shit i’m not giving them the benefit of the doubt.
honestly just doing this because between here and my nsfw twitter experience theres way, way, WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too many people in “progressive, trustworthy, we’re all a bunch of solidarity-loving queer folkz” spheres that seem way too comfortable cozying up to fetishes that like- kinda are actually inherently bad.

MOGAI Search Tutorial
as a mogai help blog, i obviously get heaps of asks saying “my gender is related to x, what am i?” and “do you know of any y-themed pronouns?”. and that’s fine, of course, it’s why i made this blog! but a lot of the time, the askers could find the answers to their questions without using me as the middleman. (middleperson? middle enby?)
so! a tutorial on how to find genders, orientations and pronouns!
searching for pronouns
here are some blogs/sites that have heaps of pronouns:
@pronoun-provider
pronoun island
pronouny
@yaypronouns
@askanonbinary‘s list
the tumblr blogs have a great tagging system, and although pronouns-archive and pronoun-provider are inactive, the resources are still there. you might find searching on the blogs difficult on mobile though.
so. say you wanted some fire-themed pronouns. what you’d do is go to the blog/site of your choice and search for fire-related keywords, like ‘fire’ ‘flame’ ‘hot’ ‘warm’ etc., and if that doesn’t turn up enough results you might want to expand your search to words like ‘element’.
let’s add some screenshots! this is pronoun-provider’s pronoun page:
as you can see there are a lot there, and that’s just a small part!
so, if i wanted to search for fire-themed pronouns on desktop, there are a couple of ways i could do that:
1. search using the url (as their theme doesn’t have a search bar) by editing the url from this:
to this, by deleting ‘pronouns’ and adding ‘search/fire’.
2. using ctrl+f / cmd+f, which opens up a search bar, and typing ‘fire’
3. scrolling through the page until i find a whole section on fire-themed pronouns! there are also other sections that might have what we’re looking for, like ‘traditional elements’
4. if i was on mobile, i’d go to the search button on pronoun-provider’s blog and type ‘fire’.
5. even good old google could give us what we’re looking for, by searching ‘fire neopronouns’ and similar searches.
after that, if you still haven’t found what you’re looking for, then you can ask me for help!
searching for genders
here are some blogs/sites that i use when searching for terms:
@transgenderteensurvivalguide (see their ‘what am i’ page)
@pride-color-schemes & the sister blog @ask-pride-color-schemes
@nebularomantic
@uncommongenders
and, of course, me!
so lets say you wanted to find a gender that was related to flowers. open up your blog of choice - let’s go with my blog first.
you follow the same process as searching for pronouns: type in keywords into the search bar (my blog has a search bar, but you can use the url method too)
and there’s a list right there!
you can also use tags to find what you want, though this would take longer. on my blog, you could either search ‘gender’ or scroll through until you found a post tagged ‘gender’, click on the tag, and look through the results.
but maybe the first blog you chose isn’t giving you any results. so go to the next one, and repeat the process. then, of course, you can still ask me and i’ll try and find some!
searching for orientations
this is a little more tricky since usually orientations aren’t based off things like flowers or fire.
let’s say you were looking for an orientation based on attraction to men. again, you’d repeat the keyword process - in this case, using words like ‘men’, ‘masc’/’masculine’, ‘male’, ‘min’ [masculine-in-nature].
you might be looking for a term that tells people what your gender is and who you’re attracted to (i.e., the gender-loving-gender / juvelic system). then, your keywords would be [x]lm, replacing [x] with the first letter of your gender - w for woman, m for man, nb for nonbinary, a for agender (though it can sometimes be used as ‘all’), x for xenogender. don’t try and search for something like ‘slm’ for ‘stargender-loving-men’, as that would fall under xenogender or nonbinary. stick to umbrella terms for this part. keep in mind that the acronyms are set out as your gender-loving-who you’re attracted to (e.g., nblw = nonbinary person-loving-women, a nonbinary person attracted to women).
other times, you might be looking for what some people call amative orientations, or methods of attraction. this is when a term describes not who you’re attracted to, but how you’re attracted.
for example, you might be neurodivergent and feel like that influences how you experience attraction. you might start by searching for ‘neurodivergent’ or ‘neurodivergency’, and then start searching for your specific neurodivergency, like ‘adhd’ or ‘schizophrenia’. on my blog, these are tagged ‘neuro orientations’ so you might find a term that works for you there.
again, if you’re still not happy, look on other blogs or ask me for help. you might even realise that there’s no term that is exactly what you’re looking for and coin your own!
i’d like to reiterate that it’s ok to ask me for help at any time, just maybe try this first?
good luck, and happy mogai month 2019
